• Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements, schedules, and quality standards.
• Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues, challenges, and potential risks, escalating to Project Management when necessary.
• Site Logistics: Manage site layout, temporary facilities, and overall site planning to ensure efficient material flow and safe work areas.

Who We're Looking For: Your Essential Qualifications

To excel as a Construction Superintendent / Site Superintendent in the complex and demanding Fort McMurray construction environment, you'll need extensive experience and strong leadership capabilities:

• Education: A Civil Engineering Degree, Construction Technology Diploma, or a relevant trades certification (e.g., Journeyperson in a construction trade) is usually required. Extensive experience may substitute for formal education. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Gold Seal Certification is a significant asset.
• Experience: Minimum 7-10+ years of progressive experience in construction supervision, with at least 3-5 years specifically as a Construction Superintendent or Site Superintendent on large-scale industrial, commercial, or heavy civil projects. • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, management, engineers, and site personnel.
• Organizational & Planning: Superior organizational, planning, and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and complex project phases simultaneously.
• Cost & Schedule Awareness: Solid understanding of construction budgeting, cost control, and scheduling principles.
• Valid Driver's License: A valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract is typically required for site mobility.
