Key Responsibilities & Ensuring Electrical Integrity
Your technical skill and meticulous attention to detail will be fundamental to the seamless and safe operation of advanced industrial processes. Typical duties for an Oil Sands Industrial Electrician include:
- Installation & Wiring: Install, connect, test, and maintain various electrical systems, components, and equipment, including motors, generators, alternators, transformers, switchgear, control panels, lighting, and power distribution systems, strictly adhering to the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and site specifications.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical faults in industrial control systems, motor controls (e.g., VFDs, soft starters), PLC systems, and various electrical equipment using test instruments and logical fault-finding techniques.
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance programs on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance, extend asset life, and minimize unplanned downtime.
