- Rigging & Signalling: Collaborate closely with Riggers and Signal Persons, understanding and executing hand signals and radio commands with precision.
- Lift Planning: Review and understand complex lift plans, including critical lifts, ensuring all conditions (ground stability, clearances, weather) are safe for operation.
- Load Management: Accurately judge distances, heights, and weights, and safely control loads during hoisting, swinging, and lowering operations.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform minor maintenance, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting on crane equipment, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of operations, maintenance activities, and any incidents or near misses.
- Site Safety: Adhere strictly to all provincial (Alberta OHS), federal, company, and client safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined space, and fall protection protocols.
- Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with ground crews, supervisors, and other heavy equipment operators.
Who We're Looking For: Your Essential Qualifications
