- Issue Resolution: Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues or discrepancies encountered in the field. Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) and follow up on responses.
- Surveying & Layout: Provide surveying support for layout, elevation checks, and verification of installed components against design.
- Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce all company and site-specific safety policies and procedures, actively participating in safety initiatives.
- Material Management: Assist with tracking material deliveries, verification against specifications, and coordination of material flow on site.
- Documentation: Prepare field reports, daily logs, redline drawings, as-built documentation, and other project records.
- Project Controls Support: Assist Project Managers and Project Controls teams with schedule updates, cost tracking, and progress measurement.
Who We're Looking For: Your Essential Qualifications
To excel as a Field Engineer / Construction Engineer in the dynamic and challenging Fort McMurray construction environment, you'll need a strong engineering foundation and practical site experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Construction Engineering from an accredited university. Enrollment in or progression towards an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation with APEGA, or a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Alberta, is a significant asset.
